The Student Representation’s mission it to improve the quality of the education at RSM Erasmus University by facilitating and improving the feedback exchange between the students and faculty.

Any student of RSM can apply to become a member of the board, including students who are currently not SR members as well as all bachelor, master and pre-master students.

We are looking to fill the following 7 board positions: Chairperson, Secretary & Treasurer, IBA Coordinator, BA Coordinator, Marketing & Events Coordinator, Programme Advisory Coordinator, and Third Year Coordinator

 

Chairperson

As the chairperson, it is your duty to organise and manage SR as an organisation. It is your responsibility to monitor not only general processes but also the progress of the other board members to make sure that individual and common goals are being achieved. This entails scheduling and leading weekly board meetings, having personal meetings with each board member, creating overall plans, and ensuring that all activities are in line with the organisation’s statutes. Furthermore, you should always keep SR’s mission of improving education at RSM in mind and ensure that we are on the right track. In addition to that, the Chair should represent SR to external parties and organise professional trainings to further develop the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling & leading weekly meetings
  • Keeping up to date with all board members
  • Representing SR to external parties
  • Personal projects to further develop and improve SR
  • Scheduling one-on-one meetings with board members
  • Writing the policy plan
  • Creating short- and long-term goals that should be achieved during the board year
  • Organising the General Meetings

Expected Working Hours:

Secretary & Treasurer

As the Secretary & Treasurer of SR, you will be in charge of all internal organisational processes and the financial aspects of the organisation. You will create a budget where you have the ability, and responsibility, to approve other board member’s budget requests. Moreover, it is your responsibility to monitor all cash in- and out-flows to ensure payments do not exceed the established budget. At the end of the year, you will have to publish an annual report that encompasses all of SR’s financial information. Additionally, as the secretary, you will help the chair lead board meetings, schedule event locations and be in charge of the general internal organisation.

IBA Coordinator

Indicated by our foundation’s name, representation of the student body is SR’s core business. As the IBA Coordinator you will be in charge of the Student Representative across year 1 and 2 in IBA as well as in the English Pre-Master. This job entails recruiting suitable Student Representatives, motivating them, guiding them, and monitoring and checking their work. Furthermore, the job requires you to have a complete overview on year 1 and 2 IBA and Pre-Master exams to ensure they go accordingly. The IBA coordinator needs to work closely with the other coordinators on the board as well as with Programme Management and the Professors – which is a great way to network.

Responsibilities:

  • Being approachable for the Student Representatives and students.
  • Gaining reliable/valuable feedback through various survey techniques.
  • Organising trainings and feedback sessions for Student Representatives.
  • Finalising and proofing reports.
  • Establishing contact with all professors in IBA.
  • Be familiar with the courses and procedures within IBA.
  • Monitoring IBA Student Representative’s progress and work.
  • Maintaining close contact with Programme Management.

Required Characteristics:

BA Coordinator

Representing the student body is the basis of SR. As BA Coordinator you will be responsible for part of this core by planning and managing the representation of the first and second year BA students as well as the Dutch Pre-Master. This position entails recruiting, training, guiding, and monitoring the representatives. The BA coordinator needs to work closely with the other coordinators on the board as well as with Programme Management and the Professors – which is a great way to network. You are expected to have a complete overview on the first and second year BA, and Dutch Pre-Master exams to ensure they go accordingly. The BA Coordinator needs to be aware of the ins-and-outs of the faculty, which will certainly be of use during the rest of your studies.

Responsibilities:

  • Being approachable for the Student Representatives and students.
  • Gaining reliable/valuable feedback through various survey techniques.
  • Organising trainings and feedback sessions for Student Representatives.
  • Finalising and proofing reports.
  • Establishing contact with all BA1 and BA2 Professors.
  • Be familiar with the courses and procedures within BA.
  • Encouraging students to “Speak Their Mind”.
  • Monitoring Student Representative’s progress and work.
  • Maintaining close contact with Programme Management.

Marketing & Events Coordinator

As the Marketing & Events coordinator you lead all internal & external events of SR, as well as our presence within and beyond SR. This entails organising and executing external events such as Professor Awards, but also internal events such as the annual SR Birthday, SR Trip, Member’s Day and online/offline social events for our volunteers. Additionally, you will use different marketing techniques to raise awareness of what the organisation does and stands for. You contribute a great deal to SR’s social aspect – helping create positive memories for SR volunteers and a sense of belonging to the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Organising all internal & external events
  • Establishing SR’s presence on campus
  • Recruiting new internal members for all committees
  • Taking care and further shaping SR’s brand
  • Organising the SR Trip + Professor Awards
  • Creating marketing campaigns
  • Using Canvas and ideally video & photo editing programs, etc. to create advertisements
  • Tending to all social media platforms
  • Managing committees of desired sizes

  • Experience with online photo/video/website editors is a plus

Expected Working Hours:

This position will take up an average of 10 hours per week. You will have frequent meetings with your committees, which you prepare and wrap up. During slower periods time is spent on long-term planning of events and marketing initiatives for SR.

 

Programme Advisory Coordinator

As the Programme Advisory Coordinator, it is your goal to better the academic environment of (I)BA by improving general practices. You will be managing three committees that all work towards holistically improving the RSM Bachelor’s; (1) Programme Development, (2) Examinations (3) Internships & Exchange. In this position, you have the freedom to shape what the Programme Advisory focusses on, which thus entails the responsibility of constantly recognising fields of improvement within RSM and working diligently towards improving them. For the Programme Development commitee, this for example includes matters such as student stress levels or the RSM identity. The examinations committee oversees the general examination situation at RSM, including the compilation of reports identifying course-overarching issues. Lastly, the Internships & Exchange committee is concerned with improving these processes. A natural part of the job is to work closely with numerous RSM bodies such as Programme Management, Academic Directors, Learning and Innovation Team, and the Examination Board. As PA coordinator, you are a part of the Bachelor committee, comprised of faculty staff, where you will play an active role in contributing a student perspective towards the redesign of the bachelor – which is a unique chance to have an impact on education.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruiting, training, and guiding three committees

  • Actively participating within the Bachelor Project team
  • Organising the Open Feedback Days
  • Recognising academic fields of improvement of (I)BA

Third Year Coordinator

This is a representative coordinator role that is deeply connected to the core processes at SR. As the Third Year Coordinator, you will be in charge of the student representatives across year 3 in both IBA and BA, as well as the RSM minors and electives. This position entails recruiting, training, guiding, and monitoring the representatives. As there any many different paths and courses in Third Year, you will be looking for suitable ways to best represent the bachelor cohorts. As a result, your position also involves organising several recruitment rounds. You will constantly be working closely with the other Board coordinators, Professors and Programme Management – which is a great opportunity to network.
