The concept of RSM Today was conceived in 2010 by a business administration student who regretted the fact that the big screens in the lecture rooms had no function during the breaks of his lectures. When he found out that many fellow students thought likewise, he decided to initiate the news channel RSM Today.
Over the past two years, RSM Today has grown into an organisation run by the Student Representation and STAR. Although RSM Today is supported by RSM, it is an autonomous student organisation which isn’t formally part of the university or a related legal entity.

Our mission is twofold:
- to make lecture breaks more interesting for students;
- to provide a platform for faculty organisations and companies to reach students in a targeted and noticeable way.

RSM Today provides advantages for several organisations.
- For Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University in general: creating a stronger connection between the students and the university by keeping them up to date with the latest university news and other relevant information
- For professors who are giving lectures at RSM: making sure there are no more (or significantly less) speeches/presentations of student organisations before the first or second part of the lecture. In a lot of cases, these presentations took regular lecture time away from the professors. With RSM Today, the information of such organisations is shown during the breaks.
- For students: providing them with interesting and relevant content during the lecture breaks.
- For faculty organisations, student-organisations and companies: providing an additional channel to reach students in a eye-catching and targeted way.
